An aliquot is a representative portion of a stock solution (or single-use division of a batch) that is moved into a second container. For reconstituted peptides, aliquots reduce freeze–thaw cycles: labs divide one reconstitution into many small vials, freeze, and withdraw one vial at a time. Chain-of-custody records should link each aliquot ID to the parent lot and the parent stock.
