How to use this directory
This directory lists analytical testing laboratories that research peptide vendors and buyers commonly reference. It is neutral and unranked — we do not rate labs or endorse specific testing services. Each entry includes only information confirmed from the lab's own official website as of October 2026.
Before engaging a lab:
- Verify current services, pricing, turnaround times, and sample requirements by contacting the lab directly.
- Confirm accreditation status through the accreditation body's public database (not just the lab's website).
- Ask for a written quote and report template to understand what will be delivered.
- If you are verifying a COA, see how to verify peptide COA authenticity.
PurePep Vital does not test products or independently audit these laboratories. This directory is informational only. For how we compare vendor-reported documentation, see our methodology.
What analytical methods matter for peptide testing
Peptide testing typically includes the following methods. Not all labs offer all services, and not all peptides require every test.
HPLC (High-Performance Liquid Chromatography)
Quantifies purity by separating the target peptide from synthesis-related impurities. Common modes include reversed-phase (RP-HPLC), ion-exchange (IEX), and hydrophilic interaction (HILIC). Purity is reported as a percentage (e.g., 98.5%).
Mass Spectrometry (MS, LC-MS, LC-MS/MS)
Confirms peptide identity by measuring molecular weight and, in some cases, sequencing peptide fragments. Essential for verifying you received the correct compound, not just a pure substance.
Amino Acid Analysis (AAA)
Determines amino acid composition and can detect substitutions or missing residues. Useful for sequence verification, especially for novel or custom peptides.
Endotoxin Testing (LAL assay)
Measures bacterial endotoxin levels, relevant for peptides used in cell culture or in vivo models. Typically reported in endotoxin units per milligram (EU/mg).
Peptide Mapping / Sequencing
Enzymatic digestion followed by LC-MS/MS analysis to confirm full amino acid sequence and detect post-translational modifications or synthesis errors. More comprehensive than intact mass spectrometry alone.
Other methods
Some labs offer moisture content (Karl Fischer titration), residual solvents (GC), heavy metals (ICP-MS), sterility testing, and stability studies. Confirm availability and scope with the lab.
For interpreting these results, see how to read a peptide COA.

How to choose a testing lab
Consider the following when selecting a laboratory:
- Accreditation and regulatory standing: ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation is a strong signal of technical competence. For pharmaceutical development, GMP-compliance and FDA inspection history may also matter. Verify accreditation through the accrediting body's public database.
- Scope of services: Does the lab offer the specific tests you need (e.g., HPLC purity, MS identity, endotoxin, peptide mapping)? Some labs offer full characterization suites; others focus on purity and identity only.
- Turnaround time and cost: Turnaround and pricing vary widely by lab. Janoshik states an average routine turnaround of under 2 days from sample receipt (help.janoshik.com). Pharmaceutical contract labs may take several weeks. For cost, check each lab's website for published pricing or request written quotes.
- Client type: Some labs serve pharmaceutical companies and require institutional contracts; others accept individual researchers or small vendors. Confirm you meet their client criteria.
- Verification services: If you need to verify a COA later, labs with public verification portals (like Janoshik) make this easier. Labs without portals may still confirm reports via email but may have confidentiality policies.
- Geographic and shipping considerations: International sample shipping can add cost and complexity. Confirm the lab accepts samples from your location and what shipping/customs documentation is required.
For guidance on what to verify once you have a COA, see how to verify peptide COA authenticity.
Independent testing vs vendor-run labs
As covered in the COA verification guide, there is a distinction between independent third-party testing (the labs listed in this directory) and vendor-run (in-house) testing.
Third-party labs have no financial interest in whether the peptide passes or fails testing. This reduces bias and is generally preferred for critical research applications or institutional procurement.
Vendor-run labs test their own products. This can still be rigorous, especially for established manufacturers with transparent methods, but lacks independent verification.
When a vendor provides a COA, confirm whether it was generated in-house or by one of the independent labs listed here. If in-house, that is not inherently fraudulent, but it carries less third-party assurance.

Using this directory for COA verification
If you received a COA that references one of these laboratories, you can use this directory as a starting point for verification:
- Confirm the lab's website and contact details match what is listed here and on the COA.
- Check if the lab offers a verification portal (e.g., Janoshik does; most pharmaceutical labs do not).
- If no portal, contact the lab using the official contact information from their website (not from the COA alone) and provide the report ID, batch number, and test date to confirm they issued the report.
- Verify accreditation claims through the accreditation body's public database if the COA states the lab is ISO/IEC 17025 accredited.
For a full COA verification checklist, see how to verify peptide COA authenticity. For interpreting the analytical results themselves, see how to read a peptide COA.
